Made Welcome's Founder and Principal is Josh Klipp, CASp, Esq. Prior to founding Made Welcome, Josh practiced employment law for nearly 16 years, specializing in the American's with Disabilities Act. Josh is also a Certified Access Specialist through California's Division of the State Architect, #812 in all of California, and is certified to provide guidance on accessibility in the built environment. After practicing law for nearly 2 decades, Josh left litigating to do all things disability for one of the world's largest tech companies, Salesforce. At Salesforce, Josh set up and implemented the reasonable accommodations process for Salesforce's 15,000 employees in the United States and Canada. He also created and implemented the first accessibility initiative for Dreamforce, the world's largest tech conference - an accessibility strategy that Dreamforce continues to implement today.
Because of his experience in workplaces and events, Josh understands the challenges and nuances faced by employers, event producers and venues. Josh brings not only his technical expertise to bear, but also his skill from years volunteering as a settlement Judge at the San Francisco Superior Court. Josh takes tough situations and helps everyone find a good path to a better, happier and more accessible place. On nights and weekends, Josh moonlights with his band, the Klipptones, and is a volunteer Planting Leader with Friends of the Urban Forest.
Senior Associate, Andrea Freeman, Esq., practiced employment law for over a decade with the federal government, specializing in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Andrea gained extensive experience in litigation on behalf of her clients, advised on compliance with discrimination laws, and provided training to hundreds of supervisors and managers throughout the United States. More recently, Andrea has worked in the non-profit community and education sectors, focused mainly on event planning and fundraising--raising over half a million dollars for a single educational organization and providing outreach to underserved communities.
Andrea currently volunteers with Family House, Inc., a non-profit organization providing temporary housing, physical comfort and emotional support free from financial concerns, for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving treatment at UCSF. Andrea remains passionate about inclusion and accessibility having personally seen how small changes can make big differences in a person’s access to public facilities, employment, services, and education.
Andrea spends her time outside of work with her husband, two sons and dog Lucy, enjoying the bay. As Lead Stroke of the Miraloma Mayhem, Andrea lead her team to victory two consecutive years at the Northern California International Dragon Boat Festival. Paddles up!
